The Esko girls took the team title, while Moose Lake-Willow River finished third. Esko took second in the boys, while the Rebels finished in third place.

05/01/2008 12:00 AM Cloquet High School junior Sadie Lundquist has been selected to the Minnesota Advanced-17s girls hockey team which will compete in the national hockey tournament June 25 to July 1 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
“We are overjoyed at having Sadie return to Lake Placid,” said Cloquet-Esko-Carlton coach Dick Bartholdi.

“In Hermantown, it was a good meet for us and it was great to be outside,” said Cloquet coach Tim Prosen.

05/01/2008 12:00 AM The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women’s fast pitch team put an exclamation mark on their inaugural season with a pair of wins over Hibbing Community College on Monday at Braun Park in Cloquet. The Thunder struggled to a first game 8-7 come-from-behind win and then pounded the Cardinals 11-3 in the nightcap.

05/01/2008 12:00 AM Now that the fields have finally dried out enough for teams to play, the AlBrook Falcons have found themselves in the midst of a spate of games.
On Tuesday night, the Falcons dropped an 8-5 game to Cook-Orr in Saginaw as Ryan Manick pitched Cook-Orr to the win.

05/01/2008 12:00 AM It took a big hit from Kyle Duesler, but the Barnum baseball team finally got a break to go their way on Monday night in an 8-5 win over Cotton. Duesler slammed a bases-loaded single to help the Bombers score the game-winning run in the top of the sixth inning.

After back-to-back wins over Barnum and East Central where the pitching staff allowed just one run in each game, the coaching staff may be a bit more comfortable.

04/24/2008 12:00 AM AlBrook got off to a good start in girls softball last Thursday with a sweep of the Cherry Tigers. AlBrook took the first game 3-1 and then slipped by with a 4-3 second game win as well.
